Genre:  Children's Fiction
Chocrotes and the World Without Question explores the power of questions, and references ideas around tyranny, revolutionary movements, freedom of speech, and educational philosophy. For as long as civilization has existed, people have longed to be free. The struggle for freedom continues to this very day in countries around the world. Chocrotes and the World Without Question provides a timeless lesson that can help introduce young people to the events that are unfolding in our modern world. While there are deeper meanings and lessons tucked away in the pages of the book, the youth of the world will enjoy Chocrotes and the World Without Question’s ability to make them smile and laugh.

The setting for this book is a fantasy world inhabited strictly by Chickens. In this far off world, the Chickens live in fear of an evil King: Doodle Doo. This evil king, having usurped the throne from a Queen and King who believed in the power of questions and love, Doodle Doo turns the Chicken world upside down and destroys thousands of lives in the process.

Chocrotes is born during Doodle Doo’s reign and is raised by a scientist and professor of roostory, who believe in the power of questioning. Chocrotes believes strongly that his peaceful world has been uprooted by a fascist regime. Throughout his life Chocrotes asks questions, even though he is warned not to.

Book 1:
Ian Finn Morgenstern’s life is great.

Finn gets good grades, is heading off to college, has great parents and lots of friends. Now, as the final weeks of high-school are ticking away, it's time to buckle down, study hard, and end his high school career with a bang.

It's not time to be distracted by girls, psychopathic bullies, beautiful, lusty dryads or tomb raiding uncles. It's not a good time to worry about ancient artifacts or haunted mounds, sinister demonic skulls or mystical crystals that drive people insane. Unfortunately for Finn, that is what he has to deal with.

Struggling through a growing fatigue, the questions come at Finn fast and furious. Can he get through school? Can an 18 year old get too much sex? Is this true love or is he bespelled? Does she love him as a person or merely as fertilizer? Why does he want to hunch over his artifacts and cackle 'my precious..." The questions pile up until a decision has to be made - before his friends make the decision for him.

Book 2:

Finn has more in common with hobbits than with hero's, but, unfortunately for Finn, he was born with a gift. It's a gift which will completely rock his world and throw everything he held true into question.

Poor Finn, it's been a long month. People around him have an unfortunate tendency to go insane. His dad, is in a mental institution for trying to eat the nurse. His friend, Jennifer, believes evil spirits are trying to destroy the world and the his nemesis, Erik the bully, has become a psychotic killer. On the mental front, Finn himself has nothing to brag about. He's got a sexy dryad living in his head. Now, everybody wants something from Finn: His dad, wants to feed on Finn's soul; Spring, the dryad, wants to go dancing; David, his friend want him to be a superhero; Dr. Anderson, with his dreaded gaze, wants Finn to save his untreatable patients; And last but not least, Erik wants him dead.

If that weren't bad enough, there are hungry shadows, which only Finn can see. They feed on human's, drive them insane, and think Finn is a tasty treat. Whats a poor boy from Ohio to do?

  1. Thank you so much for this initiative, but unfortunately I have discovered that the logistics of offering a free review copy of my digital sci-fi "gamebook" Infinite Universe is too hard. Being only available through the Apple App Store where you buy additional "chapters" as in-app purchases, it doesn't work with gifts. :(

But if there's someway I can reimburse anyone downloading a copy for review ($4 US I think it is for all chapters), through a Paypal account for instance, I'm happy to do so :)

    Cheers,
    Brewin'
