Talisman of El by Alecia Stone

Talisman of El (Talisman of El, #1)Talisman of El by Alecia Stone
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Talisman of El is a fun story full of adventure and magic. The characters were great and their development and struggles quite realistic. I really enjoyed the author's smooth writing style. The story was well thought out and flowed easily, and the author's creativity shone through the pages.

Charlie was an easy character to like, an orphan who couldn't quite find somewhere to belong. Being placed placed in the care of Jacob, who turns out to be a not so nice guy, as a young teen starts a journey for Charlie which opens up a whole other world for him, one in which he just might discover a place for himself.

I thought the author did a great job of mixing so many elements into this one story. There was action/adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, and a bit of mythology. The world she created was original and quite detailed.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
